5 common mistakes when we speak English. Part 4

By Master isolated images in FreeDigitalPhotos.net
1. Don´t say "I promise I pay you tomorrow", Say "I promise I'll pay you tomorrow"
A menudo utilizamos will para anunciar decisiones. EG I think I'll go to bed (NOT I think I go to bed)
2. Don´t say "You must stop to smoke", Say "You must stop smoking"
EG I stopped running (dejé/paré de correr) vs I stopped to run (paré PARA correr)
3. Don´t say "I'm boring in the lesson", Say "I'm bored in the lesson"
EG I was very interested in the lesson (NOT I was very interesting in the lesson) vs The lesson was really interesting.
I didn´t enjoy the party because I was bored (NOT... because I was boring). It was a terribly boring party.
4. Don´t say "He has much money", Say "He has a lot of money"
En en Inglés coloquial usamos much y many en preguntas o frases negativas. Para frases afirmativas estas palabras son inusuales, y preferimos a lot of (también lots of, o plenty)
5. Don´t say "Which is the biggest city of the world?", Say "Which is the biggest city in the world?"
I'm the happiest man in the world (NOT... of the world). Pero of se puede emplear delante de plurales EG She's the fastest player of them all.
